Electro-Voice Artist Relations Program

Now celebrating 80 plus years in the pro audio industry, Electro-Voice has been at center stage since the birth of rock and roll in the 1950s. Even before that - in the seminal days of amplified music - discerning big band, jazz, blues, and orchestral musicians and vocalists chose EV microphones for their fantastic sonic clarity.

That said, artists have played a huge role in the success of Electro-Voice since the very beginning. From the stages of the world's top grossing tours and in the tracking rooms of the world's most famous studios to the simplest basement and garage rehearsal and project studios, EV is a name held in high regard for its sonic superiority, reliability, and ease of use.

If you are interested in becoming an Official EV Artist - and joining a family that includes Zakk Wylde, Joe Bonamassa, George Clinton, The Roots, Snoop Dogg, Megadeth, Static-X, Flaming Lips, and countless other musical luminaries - please read on.

1. What's an "Official EV Artist" and "Official EV Engineer"?

Official EV Artists are part of a global family of performers who rely on EV products to capture their unique sound whether performing live or in the studio. Likewise, Official EV Engineers are Front of House, Monitors, or Studio engineers who employ EV products to create the best possible live sound experience or recording.

2. So, what are the benefits of being an "Official EV Artist" or "Official EV Engineer"?

  • Official EV Artists become members of an elite group of performers around the world who represent the best and brightest in their respective musical genres.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers receive special privileges like artist accommodation prices on EV gear from EV or an EV dealer.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers receive complimentary service and support for EV products in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers are featured and promoted on the EV website and in the music industry and pro audio industry media.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers may be featured in testimonial-based artist/product advertisements.
  • Official EV Artists may be hired to perform at company-sponsored concerts or tradeshows.
  • In some instances, Official EV Artists and Engineers may work with EV R&D teams on new product development.

3. What does EV expect of its Artists and Engineers?

  • Simply, Official EV Artists and Engineers must be nationally touring musicians, clinicians, or engineers.
  • Official EV Artists must be signed to a major or independent record label or be able to provide evidence of aggressive independent marketing, distribution, and sales.
  • All Official EV Artists must read, understand and sign an artist endorsement agreement and abide by the additional requirements therein.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers agree to communicate with the EV artist relations department on a regular basis, alerting staff to record releases, tour dates, etc.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers are to use EV products consistently in the studio, on tour, and in clinics.
  • Official EV Artists and Engineers should recognize EV's support and mention what models they use if given an opportunity during a clinic/performance/interview/recording credits, etc.
  • The EV logo (with hyperlink to www.electrovoice.com) must be featured prominently on the Artist's official web site and myspace page.
  • Lastly, Official EV Artists and Engineers must revise their performance riders to reflect their use of EV equipment.

4. Are there limitations to EV’s support of an Official EV Artist/Engineer?

  • EV does not pay artists or engineers for endorsements. Bottom line.
  • EV does not offer booking or management services.
  • EV is not a record company.
  • EV is not a production house. We don't rent P.A.
  • While EV is active in charitable works, the EV artist endorsement program is not one of them. Becoming an Official EV Artist/Engineer is a privilege, as are the benefits that come with it.

5. Will I get discounts on other Electro-Voice or Bosch pro audio brands like Midas, Klark Teknik, or Dynacord?

If an EV Artist/Engineer expresses interest in purchasing products from other Bosch pro audio brands, they will be offered support on a case-by-case basis. Again, this is a privilege.

6. What's the Application Process?

If you currently use EV products and have come to rely on them in your craft, you may consider applying for an EV Official Artist designation. Please note that Official EV Artists must be nationally touring musicians or clinicians. Furthermore, Official EV Artists must be signed to a major or independent record label or be able to provide evidence of aggressive independent marketing, distribution, and sales.
