Comprised of vocalist/guitarists Aaron Benward and Scott Reeves, Blue County’s star continues to rise with a string of hits stemming from the success of their debut single “Good Little Girls“, from their best-selling self-titled debut CD. Blue County were nominated for the “Duo of the Year“ award at the 2004 Country Music Awards, and followed that honor with the release of a new single, “Nothin’ but Cowboy Boots“ at the end of the year.
Blue County’s Audio Engineer and Production Manager Kenny Thurman is a well-known face in Nashville’s country music scene, and no stranger to the road-proven performance of EV microphones and wireless systems. Kenny commented: “The difference in sound quality and performance since we switched out our mic input list with EV has been phenomenal. I’ve been working with EV classics like the RE20™ for years, and to fill in the details onstage with an all-EV mic lineup has elevated the quality of the mix considerably. Aaron and Scott both use RE1™ handhelds with N/D767a™ capsules and love how warm they sound - especially through their in-ears. The RE200™ is about as good a condenser mic as I’ve ever heard - fantastic for drum overheads and crowd mics, and the N/D868™ kickdrum mics are proving themselves worthy competitors to the “most versatile mic“ crown usually worn by the RE20. In fact this weekend I’m using two 868s on guitars: one on a THD amp and one on a Marshall. The 868 impresses most of the engineers who hear it to the point that it becomes an invaluable element of their mic cabinet - built to last, built to work, and built with equal attention paid to versatility as to superb performance. We look forward to continued success working with EV as mic endorsers, and look forward to seeing our practical feedback from the road become incorporated into EV’s commitment to continuous technological innovation.“
