Local AV specialists J&S Audio Visual deployed Electro-Voice Plasma P1 two-way powered loudspeakers for the evening’s events, which included a jazz and cocktail reception, multi-media presentation, firework display and band performance (during dinner), requiring only four of the compact P1s to fill the three-story main lobby space with crisp, clear sound for 900 guests-despite the challenging architectural surfaces and high trim height.
Proprietor Richard Moore, who started the company four years ago, says that, because EV’s XLD technology is so quick to put in place, “we no longer need the hours, even days, of set-up time in expensive function rooms.
“The day-long program included military bands, USAF flyovers and kids’ entertainment leading up to the big firework display, all fed to remote jumbo video screens reinforced with EV equipment,“ says Moore.

“The school was looking for an integrated communications system to address their paging, signaling and alarm event needs throughout the entire school, gymnasium, forum room and cafeteria areas,“ says Mike Schindler of Audio Engineering.
Attended by fitness freaks from all over the world, the event spread into ten separate locations around the conference center; classes and lectures for audiences of 100 upwards in the smaller rooms, large-scale social events for up to 1000, and mass workouts for up to 1500 people in the Empress Ballroom.
