GOVERNOR’S GARDEN PARTY GOES WITH TELEX

The event featured a performance by regional “60s favorites the US Kids, who performed through a Dynacord Cobra-2 modular compact line array system, with a Midas Venice console at FOH. EV amps and processing helped power the system. Wesley Audio’s Glenn Harrell explained why the Cobra piqued his interest:

“We learned about the Cobra from our Telex/EV reps, and thought it would be ideal for this outdoor gig. Rather than sitting in one place facing the stage, the 800 reunion guests were milling about, enjoying the grounds as well as the music. With Cobra this isn’t a problem: the 120-degree dispersion and long throw meant the sonic definition was strong, wherever you were standing. Stacked or flown, the Cobra allows a smaller sound company like us to address a really wide range of venues and audience sizes, all with a level of intelligibility and coverage that are amazing in relation to the system’s small footprint. And, of course, having a Midas Venice console at FOH didn’t hurt either - when the signal is running through those warm preamps, things always sound good. Simply put, this rig sounded like the best high-end home hi-fi on steroids!“
