Polar Choice Satellite™ and SAFE-1000™ Encrypted Wireless Mic Systems from EV & Telex: Sound Security and Style for the Corporate Boardroom
Norris A/V President Mike Norris described why he chose solutions from EV & Telex for a common corporate concern - keeping confidential conversations confidential:
“The installation is at the corporate offices of an Amarillo-based wholesaler of electric power. They asked for a wireless boardroom system that would also be secure against eavesdropping. We looked at three different brands, and settled on the Telex/EV product as the best overall solution for their needs, based on both looks and technology. We installed 21 channels of Telex SAFE-1000™ encrypted wireless, with SAFE-WT bodypack transmitters for 18 free standing EV Polar Choice Satellite™ (12-inch gooseneck) wireless microphones and two Telex ELM-33S™ unidirectional lapel mics, along with one Telex SAFE-HD handheld transmitter with an EV 767a NDYM head.“
Norris continued: “The end-users are very pleased with the system, both in terms of how things sound and how things look. The Polar Choice Satellite is a very sleek, low profile mic package - the SAFE-WT bodypack transmitter fits neatly into the base - and its wireless performance is equally impressive. The PC Sat gives the customer tremendous flexibility in setting the room up for different applications. There are no wires to trip over, and no unsightly holes in the tables, which can be easily rearranged without compromising sound quality or comfort. This means occupants need only pull out as many tables as required for any particular meeting, along with the right amount of mics. Unused mics and tables are stowed when not in use, which keeps things looking tidy. Aside from the aesthetic details, having a choice of four polar patterns obviously adds to the mic’s flexibility, especially since one mic is usually shared by two people. The latching feature also makes a big difference; the mic can be left on, or switched so it is voice activated. The SAFE-1000/Polar Choice Satellite combination really is unbeatable in this application.“
The SAFE-1000 (Secure Audio Frequency Encryption) offers powerful features like Advanced ClearScan™ automatic channel selection, 950 possible UHF channels, and factory preset groups and channels that allow up to 16 simultaneous systems in one band. Based on technology adapted from Telex’s intercom used by the National Football League, The SAFE-1000 system is ideal for the transmission of restricted or classified information over a wireless system.
