TELEX MI ACADEMY FEBRUARY 27TH - MARCH 2ND, 2005

Attendees were introduced to a wide range of products from the brands under the Telex Communications umbrella (EV, Dynacord, Midas, Klark Teknik, Telex), in series of seminars, presentations and demonstrations. After each days activities, the guests were treated to food, drink and entertainment at local venues, including Bunkers in Minneapolis, a well-known local nightspot with a well-used EV P.A.

New product highlights from EV included demonstrations of the RE410™ vocal condenser mic, EV Blue mics, and ZX4 loudspeakers, all of which are set to impact this market place significantly in 2005. The Dynacord XA plug-in-and-play portable PA system and the new Midas Siena console also impressed the attendees. Refresher courses on other tried and tested products from EV were also part of the program, coupled with an emphasis on the Telex/EV “Total System Solution from Input to Output“ approach to the MI market. Equal importance was assigned to the idea that “the demo makes the sale“; that the well-informed sales person represents an added-value for the customer, in being able to better communicate the advantages of investing in the best, rather than settling for the rest.

To this end, speaker systems were cranked, mics were dropped and amps were driven hard. Though some of the attendees were seen to wince as the SPL hit the high numbers and the road-tested EV mics were put through the ringer to demo their road-readiness, none of the equipment broke a sweat. If the salesperson is sold, then so is the customer: MI Academy mission accomplished!
