Label Equip, a sister company of Reflechison, provided the system. Project supervisor Nicolas Granval commented on his choice of EV’s XLC: “The theatre’s technical director, Mr. Joly, was very specific about his needs for the installation. As the system is being used for a large variety of events, from live sound to conferences, it had to match the venue’s acoustical specifications and, due to the high-profile reputation of the theatre, deliver seamless sound coverage. In a nutshell, we had to come up with a solution that combined high-performance, reliability and versatility.“

“To conclude the four-month installation project, we worked in parallel with a stage designer (Mr. Nicolas), a technical advisor (Mr. Granmougin) and an acoustician to try several linear array systems. Using EV’s LAPS software, we simulated the signal’s dispersion angles and measured the venue’s acoustical proprieties. In terms of SPL and clarity, the XLC’s performance was the most impressive by far. Two clusters, comprised of five XLC127+, 3-way loudspeakers and 2 XLC 118 subwoofers, were installed on both sides of the stage. The system is being powered by six EV P3000RL remote-controlled DSP amplifiers, controlled by EV’s dedicated IRIS software. The installation also includes a Midas Venice 320 mixing console.“

The system got its first airing during the Jazz Music Awards and received outstanding reviews from sound engineers and performers alike.
