EV SPONSORS THE ERNIE BALL “BATTLE OF THE BANDS’ ON THE 2006 WARPED TOUR

For 10 years, the biggest names and manufacturers in the music industry have joined up as sponsors for the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, helping give unsigned bands a once-in-a-lifetime shot at fame and thousands of dollars in rock and roll prizes - all while reaching a mass of consumers through the Vans Warped Tour. Leaders in their respective fields, each sponsor is committed to growing and developing artists through live opportunities and see both the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands 10 and the Vans Warped Tour as the perfect medium.

EV is also providing Showcase winners with the new RE-2 Series Wireless Microphone System and online winners with a selection of microphones. EV Cobalt mics are used on the tour.

Built into the back of a 40’ Peterbilt truck, the Battle of the Bands stage is the epitome of efficiency, a custom-designed workhorse that allows minimal setup and teardown time, not to mention a high degree of headache-free mobility. The PA rig is a rugged powerhouse built around EV X-Array concert loudspeakers and Precision Series amplifiers. Midas and Klark Teknik equipment ensure the mix is equally impressive. Ernie Ball’s tried and tested truck has been so successful that another mobile stage for the 2006 Warped Tour has been built, using more equipment from EV, Midas, and Klark Teknik to ensure optimum sound quality and reliability, as Ernie Ball’s Ryan McLain explained:

“This new full production truck is the Hurley Clothing stage on this year’s Warped Tour. The truck was custom fabricated for every detail, from the leveling hydraulics to the ramp, stage and roof. The PA features 12 EV XLC127+ line array boxes, flown in a proprietary rolling rack we designed. The rack holds the grid from the top; the two arrays of six boxes can then be rolled forward to the edge of the stage, which really cuts down on setup time. It’s a serious system, yet it can be packed up in minutes. It’s working fantastically on this beta run - our regular Ernie Ball stage has delivered great new music to thousands of fans year after year, so we know we spec’d the right equipment to get the job done!“

The Vans Warped Tour hits major venues in the United States and Canada from June 15 through August 13.
