EV Line Arrays at Aussie Gospel Fest

May 3rd, 2006

For the second year running, the main stage featured an X-Line system with eight XVLS and four XVLT cabinets per side, powered by EV P3000 amplifiers and controlled by Klark Teknik DN 9848 controllers. Headliners “The Newsboys’ took to the stage on the Saturday night, playing to a packed crowd in excess of 15,000 people. Festival organizer Isaac Moody described the X-Line sound for the Newsboys’ set as the best he’d heard in the festival’s eight-year history.

“The Big Top“ - the festival’s number two venue - is a six-pole circus tent with a capacity of five thousand people. This venue was serviced with a new EV XLD system featuring fifteen XLD 218 cabinets per side supplemented by eight QRX 218s subwoofers. The system was configured to run in full active mode. Front fill and side fill cabinets were Dynacord Madras 212 powered boxes, monitors used were EV Xw12 and Xw15 wedges, with Madras M18’s for drum fills and EV Plasma P1 powered wedges. The XLD and monitors were powered by EV CP 3000S amplifiers with Klark Teknik 9848 and EV Dx38 control. The subs were powered by EV P3000 amps.

The number three venue on site was “The Café“ which proved to be one of the hardest working venues all weekend. This space featured arrays of eight new EV XLE cabinets per side running passive off one EV P3000 amplifier per side. This venue ran the system consistently for ten hours per day and featured such artists as Nathan Tasker, Andy Sorenson and the Skat band. With crowds in excess of 1000 people, the XLE system was able to deliver even response with levels exceeding 100db - all from just two amplifiers.
