Electro-Voice EVIDs Blend into 18Th Century UK Wedding Venue

February 13th, 2007

CGA Integration was commissioned to provide high-quality zoned, adaptable audio for a wide range of functions. Scope for future developments was part of the brief from the outset.

Audio quality came top of the list for project requirements, with system flexibility and ease of routine use close behind. From the ceremony room to the vaulted dining rooms, separate zones were installed, all requiring individual design, while installation needed to be impressively finished to match the venue’s high standards of decor.

Audio flexibility was achieved by providing multiple inputs and selection to each zone, with programmable control over routing and volume with either local or central control, along with paging overlay and customization for special events. Audio inputs included a background hard-drive player, local inputs, radio mics or local inputs from alternative zones. Two induction loops ensure DDA compliance.

CGA Integration has included an Electro-Voice PA system for visiting dance bands and DJs to use in the main hall. Powered by EV CP3000S amplifiers, the system uses EV’s QRx115/75s with QRx118 bass bins integrated into the matrix system. The room has been designed with the multi core cabling all built in, facilitating the various setups.

As a licensed venue for weddings, the ceremony room required crystal-clear audio quality, provided by discrete Electro-Voice ceiling speakers from the EVID range.

The high roof of the dining hall creates an imposing venue for food and entertainment. Background sound is delivered evenly to the tables using EVID 4.2 loudspeakers in a low-key white finish. Zoning these speakers enables custom scenarios for top-table positioning or variations in volume across the room if required. Audio feeds to the kitchen from all zones assist monitoring of speeches and event timing. The bar area also benefits from EVID ceiling speakers, creating a pleasing background ambience. As elsewhere, local selection and volume controls provide flexibility for a range of event configurations.

During commissioning, Spains Hall commented that the system had been made particularly easy for non-technical staff to understand.
