HAUSMESSE A BIG HIT UNDER NEW BOSCH COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS BANNER
Straubing, Germany, February 2007: EVI Audio’s 21st Hausmesse was also a premiere, since the company was playing host to the 600 dealers, distributors and journalists from all over the world for the first time since the fusion with Bosch that had resulted in Bosch Communications Systems (founded on the 1st January 2007) becoming the new home of EVI Audio.
There was no hint of nostalgia, though, at the Presidential Dinner in Straubing’s Rittersaal, as Mathias von Heydekampf, President Pro Audio, and Export Manager Klaus Seitz auctioned off the sign (now replaced by the Bosch logo) that had once stood atop the company’s European headquarters in Straubing-an item of pro audio memorabilia in XXL format that set back Adel Attia, of the Egyptian distributor Quality, some 1,500 euros; money that was promptly donated to the town’s nursery schools.
And the good humor that had marked the official opening was maintained throughout the following days. Saturday saw an international press reception in the Theater am Hagen, at which Martin Traut and Christian Glueck introduced this year’s new products after Mathias von Heydekampf opened the proceedings with a half-hour discourse on the perspectives for the company following the fusion with Bosch. The message was unambiguous: We aim to be Number One; and he appealed to all present to help the company attain that objective: “’Do good things and talk about them’ should be our watchword at all times,“ he told the assembled guests. “After all,“ he added, “we have any number of success stories to relate. In fact, no second passes without an event taking place somewhere in the world in which we are in some way technically involved.“
A fixture nowadays on the pro audio calendar, and of global importance to the industry, the Hausmesse offers a particularly satisfying blend of business and entertainment. This year’s program included a visit to the local ice hockey stadium, in which a new Electro-Voice/Dynacord system was recently installed, to watch the Straubing Tigers take on Berlin’s Eisbären; numerous product presentations and workshops; and, naturally, the traditional EVI Audio party on Saturday the 27th January. This was the first time the convivial get-together had been held in Straubing’s Fraunhoferhalle. Conceived as a ’Bavarian Evening’ and planned with loving attention to detail (complete with a variety of authentic Volksfest stands!), the party was enlivened by performances from the wind ensemble Bavarian Blue and the showband that created such a stir at the Winter Olympics in Turin: Anorak.
