Musikmesse: A New Recipe with Favorite Ingredients

April 19th, 2007

Now under the Bosch Communications Systems umbrella, EVI Audio came up with a new concept for its presentation at this year’s Musikmesse/ProLight+Sound fair in Frankfurt (28th-31st March, 2007). This included a live stage and a new open-plan booth design. The predominantly white décor combined with the lavish dimensions of the booth to create a sense of light and space, symbolizing the birth of a new era that began with the acquisition of former parent company Telex by Bosch in September of last year.

But, as Robert Pletz, Marketing Services Europe, who was responsible for the trade fair presentation, points out: “Although the booth had a fresh new look to it, we remained faithful to the values for which we are known and the strategies that have served us so well in the past. Never before, in fact, have we applied our adage “The Demo Makes the Sale“ quite as consistently as we did this year: we had “Demo Corners“, for example, in the microphone section (complete with a recording station) and areas set aside for loudspeaker and fixed installation demonstrations.

The program included other items, too, carried over from previous years, such as the well-attended press conference at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday 29th March, and a commitment to providing the world’s largest trade fair for entertainment and communications equipment with some of its musical highlights.

This year, Bosch had the guitarist Jan Stürmer and singer Tiffany Kirkland performing daily at the booth, whilst on the Agora Stage, the Californian all-girl AC/DC tribute band ThundHerStruck turned in electrifying performances throughout the fair, as did the newly created EV Funk Alliance, for which drummer Wolf Simon added the catalyst of elite musicians from groups like Tower of Power to the success formula of the Real Groove Band to form an explosive cocktail. The fact that world-class guitarist Hiram Bullock was not content with his status as a special guest and soon demanded permanent status in the band provides some indication of the irresistible chemistry Simon had concocted!

And yet another tradition was maintained this year: as has invariably been the case in recent years, our latest products picked up a number of prestigious awards!
