EV POWERS POPKOMM FESTIVAL IN BERLIN

Over 65,000 concert-goers attended this year’s Popkomm festival in Berlin over September 14-16, during which more than 1,500 musicians from 23 different countries provided over 400 hours of live music in just under 30 different clubs and halls dotted about the city. In the thick of the action was the Berlin production company TSE AG: the team lead by Marcel Fery was responsible for both the lighting and the sound at many of the main events, including one of the real highlights of this year’s Popkomm: the MTV Designerama Fashion Show.

Broadcast live by MTV with a large TV audience around Europe, the Designerama Fashion Show capitalized on the natural synergy of style and sound, as hip-swinging lovelies sashayed down the catwalk to a backbeat provided by Goldfrapp and Westbam. This was the perfect soundtrack: a group in vogue for the faces of Vogue, and TSE AG ensured that the sound was as flawless as the complexions on the catwalk. Sound reinforcement was via EV X-Line, Midas consoles and Klark Teknik EQs and processing.

Fery commented: “The extremely wide stage in the Berlin Arena posed no problems for the EV system, with its coverage angle of 120 degrees.
