EVIDs for South San Francisco Medical Facilities
Bruce Green of Reference Point Audio Visual explained how the EVID solution blends subtle aesthetics with sonic intelligibility, making them ideal for these applications.
“We specified EVID C8.2 speakers as part of an extensive paging system at the new medical offices, and used the C4.2 models to replace an aging paging system at the medical center. Both these multi-zone systems are programmed for maximum flexibility, handling various code announcements and emergency protocols. The EVIDs, as the end of the signal chain, are a critical part of a critical system, delivering a high level of intelligibility at the prerequisite low SPLs. Whereas before the frequency response cut off at around 10 kHz, now the pages stand out clearly.“
Green described some of the standout features that make the EVID line a cut above for commercial audio applications. “I’ve used EV products for a long time, and I was confident the EVIDs would give Kaiser many years of service. First and foremost I was looking for vocal intelligibility, and the coaxial design delivers full range audio in a very compact unit. Plus these speakers are very easy to install, and it’s easy to change the taps on a 70V system if needed; you just take the cover off, make the adjustment with a screwdriver, and you’re done-there’s no need to remove the whole speaker. EVIDs are easy to use, they sound full and smooth, and they blend in seamlessly to the decor. From every angle, it’s a very smart, practical design.“
