E-Audio Benelux begins Netherlands NetMax training

March 6th, 2009

With the introduction of Electro-Voice’s new FIR filter-based system upgrades, EV distributor E-audio Benelux started its IRIS-Net/NetMax with FIR-drive two-day, basic-level training this week. Axel Nagtegaal, MD of E-audio Benelux, explains:

“IRIS-Net software, NetMax hardware, and the RCM DSPmodules have been on the market for years and are popular in the fixed install market, but with FIR-drive EV has ushered in a new era in system control for concert sound. Almost our entire line array client group switched to the new EV NetMax N8000-1500 platform with FIR-drive due to the sonic improvement the equipment achieves and the operational flexibility of IRIS-Net and NetMax. That said, we needed a professional and consistent training program in order to get the most out of this incredibly powerful control system.“

“We are entering an era where software and IT understanding is becoming a more critical factor for offering a good-sounding system to the engineer than working with product A or B,“ says Nagtegaal. “Therefore, we are investing in a consistent training program - only available for our customers - in order to grow with the technology we are starting to adopt.“

E-Audio’s training regimen consists of atwo-day, basic-level program that helps operators develop operational skills and a familiarity with IRIS-Net and NetMax products. Trainees who pass their exams are then guided through a more intensively focused course that features company-specific direction and a personal systech engineer training program. E-Audio’s basic program starts at least twice every year and is only for those who are familiar with the company’s concert sound product line at a serious operational level.

“In order to offer a consistent training program,“ says Nagtegaal, “we took an experienced EV system tech and an audio IT specialist on board for the sole purpose of guiding and training our concert sound and fixed install client group.“

“By offering this extra service to our customers we are not only training them to get the most out of our new technology but we are also learning from them about specific usage,“ he adds. “It’s a mutually beneficial operation.“
