EVIDS WORK OUT AT THE GYM
The Gym in Englewood, New Jersey is the latest high-end exercise facility in The Gym chain to feature EV loudspeakers installed by Boulevard Professional.A complete compliment of Electro-Voice EVID and Sx Series speakers provide distributed audio throughout The Gym, balancing architecture-friendly looks and mounting hardware with clear sound and controlled coverage. In their 20-year history, Boulevard Pro has relied on EV audio for dozens of installations at sports clubs and gyms across the New York & New Jersey area. Boulevard Pro’s James Cioffi explained:
“Our company has four divisions, one of which specializes in live sound, so we are more than familiar with EV sound quality and reliability. Boulevard Pro installed 30 EVID 6.2T surface-mounted speakers, 74 C8.2LP low profile recessed ceiling speakers and 16 C8.2HC high ceiling speakers throughout the various workout rooms and reception areas at The Gym, interfaced via Crestron® system management. In addition, four Sx300PIs take care of louder playback for the main aerobics room and four super-compact Sx80s and two C8.2HC speakers cover the spin room.
“My partners Eric Olsen and Mike Marri where the key design team on this project, which was a complete design/build," Cioffi added. "It’s a beautiful, brand new facility and aesthetics were a major concern when it came to A/V system integration. This is the result of over two years' work, including close collaboration with the architects, who took very kindly to the EVID ‘look’ from day one. The EVID 6.2Ts have a stylish elliptical shape that always blends into its surroundings nicely – a clean profile with equally clean full-bandwidth response. The owners are nothing less than enamored with them – add the Sx speakers to the list and it all adds up to a seriously rocking health club!”
