EV CELEBRATES NEW YEAR IN JAPAN
The grounds of historic Kumamotojo Ninomaru castle in Kumamoto City were the idyllic venue for one of the Japan’s largest New Year celebrations, “Countdown to 2007.” Sound reinforcement specialists Sound Kyuushuu Co., Lte., deployed equipment from EV, Dynacord and Klark Teknik for the event, which initiated Kumamotojo castle’s yearlong 400th anniversary celebrations. Four major birthday events will be held during 2007, coinciding with each season. The XLC line array system from EV has been selected as the main sound system for each one.
The New Year festivities kicked off with local bands performing to the 20,000-strong audience, after which state of the art laser and light shows synched with the soundtrack to carry the crowd forward to the midnight countdown. After the New Year arrived a fantasy play was staged, capturing the otherworldly ambience of the castle surroundings.
All in all it was a feast for the eyes and ears, and the audience, event staff and management all agreed the crystalline sound of the EV XLC & XLD loudspeaker systems helped make the event a success and a fitting start to the year.

6x EV XLC118
