AVI NASHVILLE TAMES WILD AUDIO PROBLEMS WITH EV

Wild audio problems at Nashville Zoo’s Grassmere Amphitheater have been tamed with the help of EV EVID and Sx300PIX loudspeakers. The Nashville office of Audio Visual Innovations, Inc., was enlisted to design a sound reinforcement system to replace the worn-out system that the training department had been using for their daily wildlife classes.
An initial meeting with the trainers uncovered numerous problems with their existing sound system—lots of hum, buzz and inadequate coverage for an amphitheater. A new system was proposed and installed, consisting of four EV Sx300PI loudspeakers flown in a left-center-right configuration over the stage area, with six EV EVID loudspeakers attached to the roof as a delay ring providing smooth, even coverage throughout the bowl area and out into the fringe of the amphitheater.

“All personnel involved with the use of the system are extremely pleased, and the Zoo Manager told us that the new sound quality has ‘made him a hero!’” reported Dan Waltens, Installation Manager, AVI Nashville. Since completing this project, AVI Nashville has returned to design an LCD display and HD playback system for the Zoo’s new alligator exhibit.
