ROBIN THICKE FLIES HIGH WITH PHOENIX

Miami-based Drummer Boy Sound recently provided sound reinforcement for an outdoor VIP performance by Robin Thicke. “Robin Thicke’s rider requested in-ear monitors, which we supplied along with our Dynacord Cobra-2 compact line array system, Midas Siena monitor console and EV amps and monitors,” says Harold Cummimngs of Drummer Boy sound. “We ran our new Electro-Voice Phoenix PX1122M monitors on stage with EV QRx115/75 side-fills, both powered by EV CP-series amps. Robin was so impressed with the sound of the two Phoenix front monitors and QRx side-fills that he took his in-ears out during the second song, which is unheard of! He told us the monitors sounded so good and so clear he was able to really get deeper into his performance—Robin is a very passionate performer anyway, so that’s really saying something! The Phoenix monitors are just what we’ve been waiting for: they sit at a nice price point between the QRx and X-series monitors, and the new DVX woofers in there are amazing—so powerful, so warm and so smooth. I love these monitors!”
