HIGH ALTITUDE AUDIO WITH EV IN AUSTRIA

At the end of August, Austrian rental company Murdock Music Entertainment provided sound reinforcement for Hansi Hinterseer's "Fanwanderung”, a mass hike in the mountains led by the Austrian Volksmusik star. The occasion gave systems from EV, Klark Teknik and Midas an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to perform at a high altitude.
From August 23rd-25th 2007, the mountains around Kitzbühel were the setting for Hansi Hinterseer's sixth "Fanwanderung", in which over 6,000 of the Austrian Volksmusik star's fans accompanied him on a hike in the mountains. Since the event is intended as a celebration of the joys not only of nature but also of music, the Fieberbrunn-based production company Murdock Music Entertainment was engaged to install sound reinforcement systems at each of the three stations at which the procession made a halt, thereby ensuring that Hinterseer and his fans, like the "fine lady upon a white horse" in the nursery rhyme, would have music wherever they went.

- At the top station of the Hahnenkamm, the 1,668 metre mountaintop jumping-off point for the hair-raising downhill ski event, Murdock installed a system including EV Xi-2123 enclosures and Xsubs.
- For the traditional “mountainside mass” in the Hahnenkamm chapel, EV XLD enclosures were installed.
- At the Ehrenbachsee, a lake at an altitude of 1,802 metres, Hinterseer gave a concert with his band. For this, Murdock deployed an EV XLC line-array system.

As in previous years, the Fanwanderung ended with a march into the town centre of Kitzbühel. Notable residents of the famous ski resort and its associations escorted the blond bard and his fans on the march, accompanied by Volksmusik of the finest caliber, with EV, Klark Teknik and Midas systems—again under the direction of Murdock Music—ensuring that the sound quality was worthy of the occasion.

As Murdock's Stefan Gieringer points out: "Hansi Hinterseer's Fanwanderung is turning into more and more of a cult event, so the technical requirements are greater every year. Fortunately, the modular design of EV, Midas and Klark Teknik systems allows us to tailor the configuration used in each location to match the requirements. The excellent handling, legendary reliability and the impressive versatility of the systems is also of decisive importance."
