K&Neo

Vocal-and-guitar duo K&Neo consists of Keico (Kay) and Naoki (Neo), bringing together a natural-born vocalist and a master guitarist. Together since 1999, they have attracted listeners with a repertoire of classic songs from the 70s & 80s, as well as strong original material. Their perfect balance of technique and emotion has built a deep-rooted fan-base. Kay's microphone of choice? The Electro-Voice N/D767a.
Music
A nylon-string guitar—usually used in classical music—and female vocals… a format that may suggest "soft and mellow” or “jazzy." But K&Neo often destroys such preconceptions. There is a soft side just as there is a rock side to their style, and the duo often incorporate funk and an authentic Japanese feel into the mix.

History
The band started out in 1999, releasing a six track CD called FAKiE in 2000. The release of FAKiE was followed by live performances in venues nationwide, such as jazz clubs, concert halls, convention centers, and many others. 2004 saw their first full-length CD, entitled Timeless. Timeless has been hailed by many music lovers and audio fans for its quality sound and performances. Released in 2006, To The Limit was recorded with no punching-in and no overdubbing—truly a “live” recording. In 2007 Keico (Kay) was awarded the Japanese Government Overseas Study Programme for Artists scholarship by the Japanese Government.
