Bosch crowned "Most Original Team" in Munich fun run; Electro-Voice systems ensure superb sound
Thirty thousand runners—150 Bosch employees among them—took part in Munich’s Corporate Fun Run on July 24. In terms of originality, the Bosch4Speed team was once again invincible. An Electro-Voice XLD sound system made sure the sound quality at the Olympic Stadium, the fun run’s final destination, was of the very highest quality.
Despite soaring temperatures, there was a massive entry for this year’s Corporate Fun Run in Munich: no fewer than 30,000 runners of both sexes toed the line at the start of the just under five-mile course winding its way through the Bavarian capital. The object, of course, was not to complete the course in the best possible time but in the best possible humor, and in this regard, this year as last, the 150-member team from Bosch Security Systems GmbH once again proved invincible, securing First Prize in the category “Most Original Team”.
A richly deserved accolade, as critical observers lining the route were quick to attest. After all, the team from the company’s production facilities in Ottobrunn, Straubing, and Nuremberg, adorned with blue wigs, Elvis sunglasses, and headphones, managed, through the ingenious use of themed t-shirts, to reproduce the entire signal chain–from microphones, to mixers, amps and loudspeakers–covered by the Business Unit Bosch Communications Systems. With dance steps custom-choreographed for the occasion and a converted handcart providing a lightshow, sound from Dynacord loudspeakers, and refreshments, the fleet-footed Bosch delegation won the hearts of spectators and commentators alike as it made its triumphant entry into the Olympic Stadium.
The sound production in the Olympic Stadium made it a clean sweep, with Uffig-based rental company TC Showtechnik having displayed sound judgement in the choice of an XLD line-array system from Electro-Voice. “We were able here to exploit to the full the system’s outstanding intelligibility,” commented TC-Showtechnik managing director Martin Schulze. “Not surprisingly, our client was more than satisfied with the production.”
