Sir Paul McCartney Rocks Quebec with Electro-Voice!
Quebec City celebrated its 400th Anniversary in very big way this July... and it doesn’t get much bigger than “Macca”.
Sir Paul McCartney provided the pièce de résistance among the city’s slew of celebratory cultural events, performing an energetic 2 1/2-hour concert—including a healthy dose of Beatles classics—in front of a euphoric, 260,000-strong audience gathered at the city’s Plains of Abraham.
Quebec City’s Le Groupe SPL provided a suitably powerful PA for the historic show, utilizing Electro-Voice X-Line, Xi, XLC, XLE, and PX loudspeaker systems, all powered by EV amplifiers, with control via IRIS-Net software. Midas Heritage 3000 mixing consoles and Klark Teknik DN360 EQs provided world-class sound quality for Sir Paul and his band's monitor mixes, presented via a spread of two dozen EV Xw15A stage wedges.
