Electro-Voice is pleased to welcome Japanese pop singer/songwriter Maki Ohguro to its family of microphone endorsers.
Truly an artist in whom Japan takes great pride, Maki Ohguro started learning classic piano when she was 3 and writes all her own material.

Maki Ohguro timeline:

May 1992: Debuted first single STOP MOTION

Sep 1993: Attained first million-seller with second album DA DA DA

1996: Won Best Artist of the Year at the 10th Japan Gold Disk Awards. Her single Atsukunare was used for the theme song for NHK at the Atlanta Olympic Games. Maki is now recognized as one of Japan’s national vocalists. 

Dec 31, 1999: Appears live on TV at Nara Todaiji (World Heritage Site) for the countdown to 2000 event, broadcast in 62 countries and witnessed by five billion people around the world. After representing Japan for this historic occasion, Maki takes some time off to plan her career moving forward into the new century.

2001 – Released the single Niji wo koete – her first after a one and a half-year recharge period.
April 2005 – Released long-awaited new single Over Top. It becomes the official theme song for the Bridgestone Indy Japan 300 mile race

2007 – Kicked off MAKI OHGURO Live Bomb! tour to celebrate her 15th anniversary as a top performer.
