Electro-Voice launches EVC compact loudspeakers for fixed installation

Electro-Voice launched the EVC series, the latest addition to the EV-Innovation family of installation-dedicated loudspeaker systems. The five-model range is designed to deliver consistent sound quality for small and medium-sized installations while keeping cost and installation effort low.

The EVC models are acoustically and aesthetically matched to the wider EV-Innovation series — addressing the need for 2-way loudspeakers with installation-appropriate features at a significantly lower price point.

Three 2-way trapezoidal models — 8-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch — cover applications that call for wide bandwidth, vertical and horizontal directivity control, and high efficiency in a compact package. A 12-inch 2-way Variable Intensity (VI) model adds a compound waveguide that evenly covers a defined rectangular audience area with minimal variation in sound quality and level. An 18-inch subwoofer completes the range for use with any of the full-range systems.

Each model is available in black and white, with rotatable waveguides and a choice of coverage patterns by size.

The high-frequency section uses a 1.25-inch pure titanium dome compression driver coupled to a rotatable constant-directivity waveguide, paired with a high-output woofer for low distortion and high efficiency at elevated sound pressure levels.

Automatic Saturation Compensation (ASC) is included on all models. When the optional TK150 audio transformer is fitted for 70V or 100V operation, ASC preserves low-frequency performance while presenting a stable load to the amplifier. Standard models ship with an EV Coat finish, and PI versions add weather resistance with stainless steel grilles, hydrophobic cloth, and a dual gland-nut cover. The EVC series is compatible with other EV-Innovation models, including EVA, EVF, EVH, and EVU, and offers M10 suspension points, U-bracket compatibility, and pan/tilt wall-mount options.
