Electro-Voice launches MTS Series point-source loudspeaker systems

Electro-Voice has expanded its portfolio with the global introduction of the MTS Series — a line of full-range, high-output, long-throw point-source loudspeaker systems built for stadiums, sports venues, and houses of worship.

Electro-Voice has introduced the MTS Series, a family of full-range, high-output, long-throw, point-source loudspeaker systems designed for stadiums, sports venues, houses of worship, and similar installations. Each model carries four 15-inch woofers and dual coaxial mid/high-frequency compression drivers, generating more than 151 dB peak SPL with the directivity needed for long-throw coverage.

The MTS Series follows a holistic design approach in which geometry, amplifier matching, and digital processing are computer-optimized to keep SPL balanced and controlled across the coverage area. Four slot-loaded, high-efficiency low-frequency drivers couple symmetrically to the same full-range waveguide as the compression drivers — creating a true point source with substantial bass response.

Four models, two coverage patterns

The series includes four base models: two standard three-way configurations with 60° x 40° or 40° x 30° coverage, and two cardioid configurations that add two more 15-inch woofers for enhanced low-frequency directional control. The 60° x 40° models deliver 151 dB peak (music) down to 55 Hz and 154 dB peak (speech); the 40° x 30° models reach 152 dB peak (music) down to 50 Hz and 155 dB peak (speech).

All versions are available in black or white, with partially weatherized (PW) or fully weatherized (FW) options, and carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.

Engineering and ecosystem

The loudspeakers were developed on High-Performance Computing clusters running proprietary modeling software across hundreds of FEA simulations. New Electro-Voice technologies include the dual lossless Hydra waveform converter, which provides pattern control below 350 Hz.

The MTS Series integrates with Dynacord amplification and processing within a SONICUE-driven ecosystem and supports the X12i-128 dual-18-inch subwoofer. Electro-Voice PREVIEW Loudspeaker Software enables acoustic design for the system, which targets consultants, integrators, and installers working on venues from school football fields to international stadiums.
