Electro-Voice launches the EVOLVE 50M column loudspeaker system with new technologies for convenience and expandability

Electro-Voice has launched the EVOLVE 50M, a portable column loudspeaker system that pairs a full PA with an integrated eight-channel digital mixer — and adds QuickSmart Link to connect two systems over a single Ethernet cable.

Electro-Voice has launched the EVOLVE 50M, a column loudspeaker system that combines a portable PA with a built-in eight-channel digital mixer in a single, compact package. The design carries the audio performance of the EVOLVE line into a self-contained format aimed at performers and presenters who would otherwise pack a separate mixer.

The system uses eight lightweight 3.5" neodymium drivers in the column and a 12" subwoofer in a 15mm wood enclosure, driven by a Class-D amplifier rated at up to 1000W. Proprietary waveguides deliver 120° horizontal coverage with a 40° asymmetrical vertical pattern.

QuickSmart Link for expandable setups

QuickSmart Link is the headline addition — a digital audio and control technology that connects two EVOLVE 50M systems over a single Ethernet cable. The link expands the available inputs across both units and unifies their control, so a pair can be run as one larger system.

Both systems can be managed together from a single device through the QuickSmart App, which handles setup, mixing, and control from a phone or tablet.

Onboard mixing and connectivity

The integrated eight-channel digital mixer carries pro-grade preamps and studio-quality effects, with 30 effects presets spanning chorus, delay, flange, and reverb. The intent is to let a user arrive with one box rather than a loudspeaker and a separate mixer.

Inputs include 4 XLR/TRS combo mic/line channels, a stereo XLR/TRS input, an RCA input, a 3.5mm stereo input, and a Hi-Z instrument input. The EVOLVE 50M is available in black or white finishes.
