Electro-Voice introduces EVOLVE G2 portable powered column speaker systems
Burnsville, MN, Sep 2026 – Electro-Voice proudly presents the EVOLVE G2 portable column loudspeaker series, the most significant evolution yet of the product family that has redefined the category for DJs, musicians, production and rental companies worldwide. Since its introduction in 2017, the EVOLVE family has earned its reputation on countless stages by delivering signature Electro-Voice sound quality without compromise on weight, setup speed, or reliability. The G2 version keeps everything that made the original the industry benchmark and refines the details that matter most in daily use.
Launching simultaneously are the EVOLVE 30M G2, EVOLVE 50 G2, and EVOLVE 50M G2 models. The EVOLVE 30M G2 delivers premium column performance with an integrated mixer in a compact package weighing just 42.8 lb. (19.4 kg), making it the ideal companion for smaller venues, ceremonies, and mobile performers. The EVOLVE 50 G2 scales output for mid-sized to large event spaces, while the EVOLVE 50M G2 includes a built-in mixer for solo performers and operators who need more inputs at the source. Beyond the family's core audience, the slim form factor, a clean visual design with black and white color options make EVOLVE G2 equally at home in a hotel ballroom, a modern worship auditorium, a corporate keynote, or a rooftop event.
Same signature sound, more output
Everything users rely on stays in place. EVOLVE G2 retains the familiar footprint, the low weight, and the ultra-fast setup that gets a system show-ready in moments. Building on this, the redesigned subwoofer handles on top make load-in and load-out noticeably easier at the end of a long night, while a large full-color LCD provides real-time system feedback at a glance, even under show pressure.
Under the hood, the G2 models answer the most consistent request from the EVOLVE community by raising maximum SPL to 125 dB on the EVOLVE 30M G2 and 129 dB on the EVOLVE 50 and EVOLVE 50M G2 models. That extra headroom covers larger rooms and fuller dance floors, while the precise 120° x 40° coverage pattern delivers even, detailed sound to every listener.
Switchable 48 V phantom power allows condenser microphones to be connected directly with no external preamp, an improvement over the always-on 15 V phantom power of the first-generation models. QuickSmart Link on all models connects two EVOLVE speakers with a standard Ethernet cable for simplified cabling with fewer potential points of failure, and extended Bluetooth range gives users the freedom to fine-tune the system from the mix position or anywhere in the room.

A major software leap
The entire feature set of the EVOLVE G2 series is driven by its sophisticated software. Advanced Feedback Suppression (AFS) catches feedback before the audience notices, a safeguard that pays off during speeches and ceremonies, while ducking automatically lowers background music for announcements. An expanded FX bank adds creative options for artists to shape their sound. The EVOLVE 50 benefits from the addition of a single FX bank, while the mixer models, EVOLVE 30M and EVOLVE 50M, expand this functionality with two FX banks and even more FX options. All of it works quietly in the background so users can focus on the performance.
For wireless operation, the QuickSmart App serves as the control center for the EVOLVE range and all Bluetooth-equipped Electro-Voice portable loudspeakers. The latest 3.0 release is a major update of the free app for iOS and Android, delivering multi-speaker management, True Wireless Stereo (TWS) configuration, and speaker grouping through an improved interface built for fast decisions in live environments. A mobile DJ can manage the complete PA from a tablet between songs, and an entertainer can configure ceremony and reception systems without a dedicated sound tech. Over-the-air firmware updates keep every speaker in the system up to date – all within the same app, no computer or separate software required.
The larger EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 models are also fully compatible with the new software and can take advantage of the new features and functionality the app offers. They can also be combined with other EVOLVE models across the family with the whole system controlled from a single app.
In addition, every parameter can still be set directly on the speaker via single-knob control and the full-color LCD on the rear panel, no additional device required.
The EVOLVE 30M G2, EVOLVE 50 G2, and EVOLVE 50M G2 will be available worldwide from October 22, 2026. All models are covered by a three-year warranty, extendable to five years with product registration. QuickSmart Mobile App 3.0 is a free download, available now on the App Store and Google Play.
